We also had a lovely letter of sympathy
from Lieutenant Tudway's mother & father,
but a strange thing Reg Ted & Tudway
met again when Ted was called up, they
both went over to France together & Tudway
was killed in action the Nov. 1914 & so
sad he was there only boy, so we sent
a sympathy letter to them, Ted was 28 yrs
old & Tudway 27 yrs, just a year younger
than Ted. Yes Reg that block was also given
to Mother & Dad as well from a Captain Walker
you spoke about Ted doing duty at Windsor
Castle, that is true, he also trained at the Prince
of Wales, which would have been King
Edward the eight if he had not advocated. abdicated
To shoot, Ted was his shooting instructor
as he was in Ted's regiment. Yes Reg I
remember that brass plaque very clearly & I
have never forgotten his number which was
11635 which is quite correct on the plaque
also he told us that when he was called to
go to war that he was just going in as a
private like he was when he first join the
army, also I remember him saying to Mum & Dad
he said we are going empty handed we are not
