that to pass the time. I would also like a small tin or bottle of pickles or tomato ketchup, just something to give the bully beef a flavor.

     The billets I was in a few days ago were certainly well crowded with rats and such big ones too, I have no use for French rats or French lice but as I had a bath on Thursday last I got rid (pro tem.) of the latter. 

   The weather for the past few days has been dry & it certainly is a change for the better, it keeps us dry & our artillary can move us better.

         I have not yet been up to the front line but have been out several times on work parties doing odd fatigues around.

         I am now in the bombing section of the platoon. I dont know yet my exact location in that squad
