Dear Will,
just a line in reply
to your kind letter I received
in Fred's letter. I thank you very
much for writing to me. I am
very pleased you got my cigarettes
safely & that you enjoyed them.
You say you have never seen
me not to speak to, but you
did see me once, & that was
last August Bank holiday
twelve-month, just before you
mobilised. I came down with
Fred for the day to Woolword
& we called in at the Barracks
on our way back in the evening
but you were out with Bat.
I daresay you will remember
