Much had been said
in the press during the past
year about the Swiss system
of preparedness. Switzerland
is so differently situated
from the United States
that there is no fair comparison
between the need of
preparedness in the two
nations. Switzerland is
surrounded by more powerful
neighbors - Germany,
Austria, Italy, France,
all of them military nations
armed to the teeth. Naturally
she has more need of military
preparation than the U.S.
