Dear Mrs. Anthony

I have to thank you for your

letter of the 15th Oct. and would

have replied sooner but

circumstances prevented.

I am sorry I cannot give

you a great deal of information

about your husband, excepting

that his death was instantaneous.

He had no suffering. He

was buried the day after his

death. in the little Military

Cemetery opposite the Mill

outside the Village of

Flesquires (Flesquires is about

15 Miles from Cambrais)

His Company have I understand

erected a decent cross over

his body. This tank received

a direct hit and was set on

fire, and most of the crew
