My Dearest Nellie

          Well Nellie love I have

great pleasure in writing a letter this

week to you as last night when I came

in I had your letter and I am so

pleased to hear that you are all well at

home. and hope you are so now as I

am glad to say that I am. well

dear I can just picture your face.

when you got  first  news of me. also

the way Mother  went  on. tearing off to

tell Father as I know missing well what

a great reply it would. be to all.

I was so glad. to read. dear that all

the time you did not get news of

my whereaboats [SIC] you did not give up

hope. and so dear keep smiling and

all will be well and we hope we

shall soon be home again together

and have a jolly good time.
