My Dearest Nellie, at last I am able to send you a letter

letting you know my address and also glad today that I 

am very well which I hope you and baby are also all

at home. will you send this on to Mother who will

then send it around. I shall always send the letters 

to you when we can write. we have been treated very

well since being captured and those of us of our Coy

must thing ourselves very fortunate for being here as

very few of us are left. I hope you are having

nice weather and that you are still able to continue

your work if it is not to hard for you. I expect

that H.M can now nicely toddle about cannot he

I shall see a great difference in him when next 

I see him which I hope will not be lone one

thing here we have a good camp and good bed

and blankets for to sleep in. Nellie dear do you

think between all that is shere People and Aunts that

you could send me a parcel with a few things

in such as tobacco. missing laces. socks tin or two of

                                                   about 3/4lbs also 2 thick clay pipes

Bloater Paste etc put a good supply of thick twist in as

that last longest you can only send a personal parcel

once in three months but before sending it will you

find out if it is best to send money to the Prisoners

               asking them to put the different missing in

of War Fund ^  I do not like asking but I know 

none of you will mind me doing that and I

have not had a smoke for nearly three weeks

now as when we were caught I had only got

just a little on me. Well Nellie dear and all 

I hope you will not worry to much as I am quite

alright as long as God helps me in good health

which I hope he will Nellie dear put the address

on your letters exactly the same as I have

put it and let us all keep smiling and

hope that we shall all soon be home again

together so will close and will let you have

a line as often as possible by bye all Believe

me alwys to remain your most ever loving loyal

and affectionate hubby R xxxxxxxxx
