Dear Mrs Franklin  Many thanks for your

kind letter which I received this afternoon

I am sorry that I cannot give you any

more information as regards your son (who

was so well liked) than that which I

gave to the lady visitor of the Red Cross

society who visited the hospital, of course

in so great a struggle as that on the 25th

it is really impossible to notice or to be

absolutely sure of anything one sees, but I

did notice you son and I cannot help

but think he must have been taken

prisoner with several others, at least I

sincerely hope that is the case and that

you will here from him shortly.

As regards myself I am in hospital

suffering from severe frost bitten feet

but am glad to say they are getting

much better although very painful.

I think I must close now hoping you

will have news soon.

                          With Kind Regards

                                   I am yours sincerely

                                            Reginald Woollard
