     Your letter of Nov 2 arrived last 

  night.

       Old Tatters, the M. O. has got the military 

  Cross. He's been recommended altogether four 

  times! One of our S B's has got a second 

  bar to his military medal. So our record 

  now stands as far as I can make out

  1 C. M. G.

  1 D. S. O. 

  1 V. C.

  12 M. C's

  6 DCM's

  50 M.M.'s

                                                       2   "   "   bars and 1 Legion of Honour

  Not so bad either

         Carr left on leave today and I am now

  C.O. The scream is that Marks is expected

  to join us shortly with a draft.  As captain

  of course and he will do a while as junior

  captain to learn the routine.

      Wont all the Winchester boys laugh, 

  especially those who have command of 

  companies.

  to the Tanks. His lady wife will probably be a
