An undated sepia studio photograph of Captain George Ernest Millner, 24 London Regiment (Queens Regiment).
His helmet and collar bear the company emblem, the Paschal Lamb holding a flag upon a silver scroll bearing the name "The Queen's", he wears his officer's ceremonial jacket and sword with white gloves.

Description

24TH (COUNTY OF LONDON) BATTALION THE LONDON REGIMENT (THE QUEEN'S) 
His Medal Card shows he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (DSO) and Military Cross (MC)
as well as the 1915 Star, British and Victory Medals.
He was admitted to Queen Alexandra's Military Hospital At Millbank on 16.12.1915 with myalgia, this record shows that he had been with the regiment for 9 & 9/12 years already and aged 31 years, so he was in the Regiment when WW1 broke out, making the date of this photograph possibly around 1905 when he first joined the Regiment.   
He looks around 21 years of age, there is nothing on the back to confirm this, just his name 'Ernest' which he seems to have preferred to use, he has signed all his letters and postcards thus.
