June 22nd, 1918, by license, at St. Mary's
Church, Banbury, by the Rev. A. J. Jones,
vicar, Sapper Ernest Arthur Newman, Royal
Engineers Special Brigade; only son of Mr.
and Mrs. E. W. Newman, 2 Britannia Road,
Banbury, to Blanche Sarah, second daughter
of William Robert Hawtin, of Sibford Ferris
near Banbury.
Ern came home on Friday Evening June 21st 1918.
I and his Father and two sisters May and Elen
went to the Station to Meet him that evening.
We were Married on Saturday June 22nd 1918
at a quarter to two by licence, at St. Marys
Church, Banbury by the Rev. A. J. Jones, vicar.
We left Banbury that Evening, were we trained to
Hook Norton and walked home to Sibford Ferris
were I and Ern and Sisters Liley stayed till Monday
were we left on Monday for Banbury
Mother came in town with us were we meet
at his home: I and Ern and my sister Lizzie
went to the Picture Palace that Evening.
We left Banbury on Tuesday Morning we were training
all day and arived at Stoke Devonport a Half past
ten.
