terrible war for a whole year
without being injured in any
way. I am also pleased to
see that you are keeping
cheerful & not at all
downhearted. I think it is a
shame that you cannot get
a leave after being "out there"
for a year. As you know I am
now living at 39 & I shall
be very pleased to see you
come home. you may rest
assured that your letter has
not given me the slightest
offence, in fact I was more

I trust you will excuse me
for cutting my letter short, as
I am not much of a letter
writer. Hoping to see you
home on leave soon & wishing
