_________
When you come to the end of a perfect day
And sit + wish you were dead
While the whistle blows forth a mournful lay
That bids you prepare for bed.
Do you think what the end of an awful day
Can mean to a tired Waac?
When the sun goes down with a flaming ray
As on the office she turns her back.
~~~~~~~~~~
When you come to the end of a Mess Hall queue
And you seize you slice of bread
While the curses of all the household staff
Descend on your luckless head
Do you think what an extra slice or two
Can mean to a hungry Wack?
When the tummy is calling sweet + low
To be filled right through to her back
