"The Chip's Choppy Crossing"
The day we had wished for had come at last
Happy hearted Waacs were we.
Ever we'd wanted to sail the World Vast
Wanted ever France to see.
Elated, delighted on board we ran
Sighing for dinner + fun.
The R.A.M.C. turned out to a man,
Eyes opened wide at our "SHUN".
Right down to "cabius" we scuttered quick.
Never a glance at them cast
Already a niff which made our lips click
Under the ships deck had passed
Stuffed full of chicken, green peas and hot lamb
Taters + fruit pie a lot
Right pushed out of mind was old Army Jam
And any Metropoles rot
Laying in wait + soon dodging our track
9 numeral boys where there
After that dinner each boy had a Waac
Had her to tease - If he dare
Over that old Tub, those boys showed us well
Souvenirs they gave us.
(Have sufficient curiosity to turn over)
