April + May.
after continuous labor every night
weekends + holidays, we at last
finished the setting of potatoes
on Saturday May 19th 1917.
"Thank Heavens" what a task.
Talk about our children asking
father what he did in
the great war, when he is just
having his tater pie. There
comes before him a vision of
twisted sods, dibblers, and
emaciated seed potatoes before
his eyes when he is aroused by
mother asking, does he want
any more taters.
