  and come perhaps to abhor the oppression

  of our government, we still go back

  in our memory to the happy days

  of our childhood and the feeling

  thus enkindled is love of home, love

  of country or patriotism. Home Sweet Home. It 

  is sometimes said that patriotism

  is love of one's country because of

  what one's country stands for

  among the nations of the world.

  But that is not a sufficient

  explanation of the spirit of patriotism,

  for what does Russia or

  Turkey stand for in the world

  to make their people willing to

  die for them. Patriotism is

  I believe a love of home much

  like the love for a mother

  because she has given us

  birth. One will defend his
