I do not wish to
form your individual
opinions and I do not ask you
to accept my opinion as your
own, unless it seems to you
just and reasonable, but
I conceive it to be my duty
occupying the position I do
in relation to you as teachers
and to the schools of our
city as a whole, to state to
you my own convictions
in the face of the world
conditions today. This
I can do in the following
compact statements.
1. War is an abnormal unnatural
condition - It
should be and will be
ultimately abolished
2. Until war is extirpated,
