a line to you letting you know

that I got back safe and sound

I hope all are still well as

I am the same Dear Mother

we get paid tomorrow they 

say we get months money

so that will be twenty shillings

and if I do I will send you

well dearest Mother I think

I must bring this in as close

Hoping you doris and all

are quite well with best love

to all from your everloving

and most effectionate son
