Postcard sized real photograph taken when he was home on leave in photography studio of Alice Gibson, Photographer, 299 Holderness Road, Hull, of Charles Verity, aged around 21 years old, in 1917, he was a member of the East Yorkshire Regiment, his Army no. was 13/267, he is now a Lance Corporal.
On his cap is the badge of the East Yorkshire Regiment, he has the insignia of crossed flags on his right sleeve showing he is a Signaller, there is a cloth 'W' above the flags, and a single chevron below them denoting his rank of Lance Corporal. -

It shows, and he was a member of a 'Pals' Regiment. I wondered if the other man was his brother, but cannot find anything to substantiate this, looks like he was a 'brother-in-arms' only.
