just saying he was quite well & all the

time he had been killed in action. I remember

that letter so well being drop through the letter

box & right across it was Edward Fisher

killed in action in Red letters, so Rev. 

Norris who was the vicar at that time

heard about it, so he came across to our

house to see us & offer his sympathy, then he

said he would find out more about it, as

he new Captain Walker who was in the 

Grenadier Guards he was a great friend of

him, so not to long after he came & told

us what happened, it appears Captain Walker

was wounded & Ted went & put him to

a place of safety & as Ted was returning

to the firing line, a sniper caught him in 

the head he was killed instantly, so Captain 

Walker sent Mother & Dad a lovely letter

telling us all what happened & he also told

us where Ted was buried, which was on

the North Hills of Super, he also sent

Mother & Dad 50 pounds, as Ted saved

his life, so really Reg Ted was really

the first V.C. of Reading not that
