My Dear Son

I duly receved yours of the 25th + duly note

the contents which consist of a request to

your Mother for a recipe for a plum pudding

+ to myself a request for a remittance to allow

you to have a week end a St Claude if you can

obtain a pass.

There will be no difficulty in you getting the recipe

only I doubt if the regimental cook whom I assume

will be an amateur will turn out as finished

a product as your mother still I don't think

the result will trouble your digestive organs

let me know whether is  his  effort prove a success

or otherwise

In regard to the financial operation Alice I

understand has already written you + I trust when

you recieve hers you will kindly remember

More can be there was very little difficulty in

complying with your request as your Mother had

received about 50/- Allotment pay on your

behalf + owing to the Bfd Corp Bonus paying

+ the books being Closed. She had this in hand

or the result otherwise might have been serious

I was somewhat amused when I received yours of

the 25th (Note the date 25 days after making

your Allotment) + carried my mind back to yours

of  a week or two earlier in which you laid

most lucidly what arrangements you where making
