I had hoped that I should have been able to obtain

your transfer back to civil life when I heard that the Army

I also thought of Mess Cole Marchant + Morley + decided to

approach them through the Medium of Mr George Carter

who very kindly offerred to see Mr Brailsford the Principle

who is very much in touch both with the Admirality +

the War Office + is certainly the most likely + influental

man I know for a task this kind. I met Mr Carter

this morning who informed me that he has seem Mr

Brailsford who greatly regretted that he was Quite

unable to do anything to help you although he would

have been only to willing if his efforts had any

chance of being successful from the statement made to

Mr Carter it appears that he went down specially last

week to London + the War Office to try to obtain the return

of three or four of their own men but without any result

be a decided refusal he stated that although he
