Dear Son.
I was very pleased to receive yours of the 31st
I had been waiting most anxiously for a word from you
since Monday. I saw Mr Betts on Monday the
29th + enquired what they had done in regard to
your transfer he informed me that you where still
on offer + they would advise me as soon as they
heard anything. I do not think you seriously
considered the papers received from the Minister of
Munitions on the Thursday before you left but these
where orders controlling the works I did not say anthing
to you at the time of Leaving but the day you left
I had some time with G Cartier + he advised me to
make an appeal to the Minister of Munitions
asking for the return of my Shop Foreman + Tom
Greenwood I did this at once but recieving no reply
up to the 29th I sent a long wire to the Minister
of Munitions asking for a reply to my letter of the 23d
I received a reply from him next day enclosing two
application forms for the
return of soldiers. These have to be filled in very
clearly stating all the reasons in support of this
application it is possible to give these have to be
taken then to the Local Labor Exchange + they
advise the Minister of Munitions on the matter
who then I assume will use his own discretion
The conditions upon which a man is returned
to his former employment are very Stringent but
