near dinner time. The rest
of the men have moved

Corporal & myself
along with other. Six men
are left here & dont know
what to do. we are
waiting to see if they
will send for us.

They sent for us all right
had just made a nice place
to sleep in for night when
we got orders to move back
as it was a terribly hot
place was not
. A sniper
kept popping at me from
somewhere. On the march
shells were dropping all

round us (Thursday March 12)
& there were some casualities
my Section leader was
hit in the leg, and
several pieces hit my
helmet. The firing was
so hot we stopped in some
dug outs all night and all
day Friday. A chap has just
been wounded in the shoulder
he was standing at the
entrance. We have just been
warned for a long march to
night. 10 past 6 Artillery just
made our chaps fly.
Will has been officers
servant for 3 days. I have
hardly seen him. He has
just gone to transport
