Why Aren't They in the Honours List?

"Pardon me, sir. Will you oblige me with a light ?"               " Lump sugar ! What a treat ! - three lumps, please !"


" My doctor says I need toning up, and tells me to do        "Very well ; if you will wrap it up in two sheets of

                           myself as well as possible"                                           brown paper I will take it with me"


" Will you direct me to the Municipal Buildings, please?"    " Here is your legai fare-fourpence extra to which

                                                                                                         you  are entitled by Act of Parliament - and twopence

                                                                                                          for yourself"
