THE MARTIAN

Hommes - 36-40

Chevaux - 8

Vol. 1 - No. 22  SUNDAY, January 19, 1919   Price: 30 centimes

----

Drawing of a huge hand extending from a sleeve bearing the Stars and Stripes (of the U.S.A.) with a "US" cufflink. On the palm of the hand, a smiling American GI reaches out toward his mother, who stands waiting for him.

HANDING HIM BACK

----

From out the distant lands he came

And now returns with honored name

To hold a place more cherished and alone

In hearts more proud to claim their own.

No mighty arch or banners gay

For him whose heritage awaits the day

Forgetting love of God, of Nation and of Men

In three half spoken words, - "My son again!"
