OFFICERS DANCE

Given by the Commanding Officer and

Officers of Camp Stephenson on Wednesday

evening, April 16, 1919, in the Officer's Club.

The Club was beautifully decorated for the

occasion and about sixth couples were in

attendance. The affair was a complete suc-

cess and a pleasant evening for all who

participated.

Lieut. McCarthy and Lieut. Nelson were the

committee-on-everything, under the Major's

direction and the only arrangement that

went "wrong" was the intended Ice Cream.

It is rumored that Lieut. Nelson only used

one arm to turn the freezer, the other being

-- otherwise engaged,

Quite a number of visiting Officers helped

make the dance a success, but of course the

American girls were ninety percent of the

success.

THE EASTER MONDAY DANCE

The enlisted men's dance, given under

the direction of the Welfare Committee

on Monday evening, April, 21, 1919,

was the best dance the committee has

yet given, and it too was a success in

every particular. 200 couples attended

and enjoyed everything from the Moon-

light dances to the delicious cake that

was the feature of the refreshments

served. The committee tried for a week

to find a way to let the Moon in through

the roof, but finally had to substitute a

big searchlight. The Band was in excel-

lent form and Jazzed its way to the

hearts of the dancers.
