18-4-15
April 18th Relieved the Sherwood
Forresters in the trenches @ Frelingham
@ 8-30 p.m. Duty patrolling the
sentries from 9. P.M till 11 P.M.
April 19 Stand to arms @ 3-30 A.M.
breakfast @ 5 a.m. rifle inspection 9-30
a.m. Incharge of section filling 100
sandbags. Dinner @ 12 noon. Our
artillery shell enemy trenches & the
village of Frelingham all afternoon.
Section dig during afternoon. Many
aeroplanes up. The first time I
saw quoits in trenches. Tea @ 5 pm
Wrote a letter to Jennie, S to A 8 Pm.
April20 Stand to arms @ 3-30 Duty
from 2 am till 3-30 finish stand to
arms @ 4 am. Sleep till 9 am, No
Fatigues all day. Aeroplanes up all day. -
