The germans are beaten as
they never were before
They know it and they say Oh!
Why did he start "War".
---------------
In England, France, and Italy.
In Yanky-land as well
There will be far more glad eyes
than Kaiser-bill can tell.
---------------
Of course there'l be some sad eyes
there always is at "War"
Waiting the return of their dear ones
who's not lost but gone before
---------------
And those who's homes are broken
and are too old to work.
Let us bring to them some sun-shine
for all that we are worth
---------------
We'l give them the best of good things
and look to them in their age
For in this world's war book
Theirs is the sadess page
---------------
Then the young and helpless children to
we cannot forget them
They who have lost their dads you know
Some of our best fighting men
---------------
I'm pening this as I look from
Malta's rocky shore
Our dear ones in blighty will
soon see us roll home once more
---------------
And we'll give them herty cheers as
up the street we go
And shout "Are we down-hearted"
No But kaiser bill is you know
