My Dearest little Agnes,

I am afraid that you all at home will very soon be calling me the black sheep of the family if I keep on neglecting you as I have been doing very much longer. But really none of you can be half so disgusted with me as I am with myself. God knows it is not for the want of love for you all that I have not written more often. I am a 'rotten' correspondent & procrastination is the only cause of my not writing home. Every day for the past four weeks I have been going to write home, but every time I put it off till the next day till the arrival of your letter showed me my own bad he beheavour
