Easter Monday. I hope you will
never give Tommy any encouragement
of any kind whatsoever to become
a soldier. It is a terrible

night was actually warm. I
am dreading getting "Chatty" but
am bound to do so within the next
day or two it cannot be avoided
We march through seas of mud
Saturday April 6. We have
had a bath, first for a
month and first time I
have found undesirable
company, several ugly things
we did not move yesterday but
have just got orders again to
dress in fighting order and
we are off up the line.
The Band of the Battalion
have got their instruments
back to day. I have seen the
Bandmaster & he has told
