              "La Feasant"

  We've memories from Tours of Mess Halls so hot.

  Of Bully + rice + wasps. quite a lot

  But what we look back on with pleasure  ..the most. 

  Is "La Feasant" Field Clerks + jolly old "Roast"

                            ~~~~~~~~

  We think of the C.B.s that other girls had

  For dining in Cafes' with some Yankee lad.

  And smile down our sleeves + laugh at  .the joke.. 

  That anyone could get caught down that slope

                 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  But the dinners of Quail Pie + Peasant + Lamb

  Rum Omlette, "Bonne" Coffee + ice cream with jam

  Of Cognac + Mulagar + Champagne that fizzed

  And souvenir corks that from ceilings had 

                                                              wizzed

                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  We've tokens from Blighty + Paris + Tours

  But those from "La Feasant" would fill any

                                                     store.

  Old corks , faded flowers + records that

                                                        broke

  Of Autograph albums + many a joke

                   ~~~~~~~~~~

  The walks home by moonlight + thunder + rain

  Of talks with that Tula Clerk along that long-lane

  The good wine vision is filled Grace dear with glee

  Whilst I was as happy + happy could be
