Real photograph postcard taken in English studio of J J Payne, Hull & Grimsby - Charles Verity  (13/267)

He is wearing an armband to denote that he has joined the 4th Hull Battalion of the East Yorkshire Regiment, a 'Pals' Battalion.

Wearing his Sunday Best clothes for the photograph with an 'Albert' watch chain, he is aged around 20 years old.

He has an identical badge in his left hand buttonhole to the studio photograph of his friend

George William Williams (13/280) see page 114, which looks like a C, maybe it stands for membership of a Christian club or society at the Hodgson Street Primitive Methodist Church in Hull that they both belong to?

In the 1911 census he was living with his family at 4 Burleigh St, Holderness Rd, Hull, and was a Grocer's Assistant.
