have but few inhabitants meantime,
but they are getting back gradually.
St. Quentin is a larger town than
Cambrai. It was in the shelling zone
during nearly the whole of the war, &
nearly every house in the place has had
a share of the battering. I send you some
pictures showing the place before the war,
and after.
I am also sending you some of the
mapshots I took recently. They are not
very great pictures, but they may interest
you. One, showing Lucienne and her kitten,
is for Maisie. I hope you will preserve
all the photos, along with the ones I sent
from Irvine & the Forth. They will make
