My Dear Jim
I dare say you will think it is funny to see
that I am still here. I have been on the list to go to England
since Monday last- but no boat has left here since
I mean no hospital ship ... There is some reason for
not sailing them- I believe they are making some alterations
+ changes as things were not perfectly safe. I dont believe I
shall leave this for about 5 days now. I am not quite all right
yet my face being still pretty sore but another few days will I'm
sure fix up matters. Then if the boat is not running there is first
an off chance that instead of being sent to Blighty I may have to
go to some place here in France for change of air They often send
chaps to Nice + the South of France to recuperate. But I hope I'll
get home all the same.
Have you had any news of Christy. I don't suppose he
knows where I am He might you know be within reach of
here + I would like very much to see him. No letters that
genweresent to me before I came here have reached me yet. So far yours
... the papers + one from the less complete my list - I am
hoping to get the others. By the way should any letters for
me get home. Keep them till I
getask for them. I gave homeas my address + expect that a letter or two may get there
