I got a pleasant surprise today

the Adjutant thinks that it

is Handley-Pages I am to be sent

on. Well I did not think I was

a half and half pilot. However

two other good pilots are going with

me & the reason I think is an

emergency call for pilots to man

our largest bombing-machines

for some stunt. I refused the

fairly safe job of an instructor, but

if I like H.P's, which are

considered one of the safest stunts.

 Left page

Send Patty into Aberdeen

as soon as you get this letter.

He is to go to "Davidsons Union

Street", 3 blocks below McMillans

to get a pair of RFC wings not RAF

that I ordered. He will call at

Margee's & tell them send my RAF

tunic etc. to 82 High St. at once. You

will send on Uniform, wings, & those

two films I left behind to the address

I shall send to you after I have left Narborough.
Patty will need some money to pay

for the wings from Davidson's about

7p. I will settle up later.

Of course a pair of wings only means one.  The last two words at top of right page.
