Sir,

  I beg to inform you that the Senate has decided that Honorary War Degrees should be conferred upon certain graduates of the University and others who have obtained War distinctions, provided that these persons are willing to accept such Honorary Degrees. Your name is included in the list. The Honarar War Degree which the Senate proposes should be conferred upon you is that of Master of Science.

  I am directed by the Senate to state that lists of names of persons upon whom Honorary War Degrees are conferred under this decision of Senate will appear under the heading "Honorary War Degrees" in all University Publications in which such lists are set out.

  The Senate further decided that any person who obtains one of these Degrees may subsequently enter for the Examination for the corresponding Degree (Ordinary or Honours), should he so desire.

  Kindly inform me at your earliest convenience whether you are willing to accept the Degree proposed to be conferred upon you.

  The dates of the Conferrings of these Honorary War Degrees have not yet been fixed, but due notice will be given to all concerned.

  No fee is chargeable in connection with this matter.
