                           A few years have rolled bye

  since we last parted and I need not tell

  you how happy I felt once more to get

  a line from you. Jemmie your letter brought

  back many happy moments and yet the

  old familar haunts you mentioned made me

  feel blue. to think of the once happy crowd

  that stood on the old cross road. the old

  favorite games we played together since

  childhood with all the lads and now where 

  are they all. its tough Jemmie wher you

  look back to see no more of such jolly old

  days. Need I mention the hurling in the

  moonlight the Xmas Eave's we stayed up

  at your house. the night you stole the bottle

  of wine from your fathers room. when we

  put Maurices hand in the cup of water.

  When we sang the old songs of our country

  with pleasure. Then we knew no care of

  the world life was smoothe and happy

  and last but not least will you ever

  forget the night of the fatal dance. it

  was a good thing that night we were

  in the company of traitors and did not

  know it. but alas the poor fellows that

  met their doom. Poor Quinlan I spend many

  a happy hour with him in the good old
